Ken Dixon: An eagle's glorious 7-story flight
You don't have to hit me over the head with an antique eagle to find a metaphor, but it was close. It would have been such a fitting way to go: walking out of the Capitol on the windiest day in years and getting conked on the head by a brass raptor ...

with just a few days to go until the big Thame Dolls House & Miniatures Fair , I have the wonderful task of pricing and then carefully packing up some rather lovely antique and vintage miniatures in readiness for my stand on Saturday. so now as promised, here is a snippet of just some of the lovely antique and vintage items I'll also be taking to Thame. And finally, there will be various other pieces of furniture such as this very old gateleg table which extends out at both ends, plus a rather lovely early 1900s cane chaise longue. However, these are only just a few of the many antique and vintage goodies I will be taking to Thame Fair on Saturday.

Hello everyone, I have more romantic views to share with you this Valentine's week. Most of the photos are taken of things around the house that are always there, not just seasonal. As many of you know I am a true lover of Victoriana and it just happens to be so pretty and romantic that it is perfect for the occasion. This is a corner of my foyer, photo taken from the stairs so you could see the antique cranberry glass hanging lamp. The antique walnut hall stand dates to probably 1860's or so. I just loved seeing all the wonderful and exciting things you shared with us today. Your home is truly beautiful. You do a great job with all your collecting and decorating. I loved the Home Sweet Home Framed Picture. It all looks so beautiful and romantic. was decorated in a Victorian style, but when my husband and I moved we sold pretty much everything. You have done a beautiful job of capturing that romantic feel. In my free time I enjoy going to auctions and searching Antique malls for Victorian treasures. I am constantly trying to "Victorianize" my 1989 home with these treasures. I love to decorate, create vignettes and enjoy staging photos.
