Review: Samsung rises to challenge with Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Lets cut to the chase: Samsung nailed it with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. These are Samsung's finest and best-looking smartphones to date and if Android is your mobile cup of tea, they are the handsets to beat Check out this story on USATODAY. ly/1bNKzFi NEW YORK — Let's cut to the chase: Samsung nailed it with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. These are Samsung's finest and best-looking smartphones to date and if Android is your mobile cup of tea, they are the handsets to beat. Of course, the cascading edge of the Edge makes it stand apart from other phones. Samsung introduced this curved "secondary" screen concept on its Note Edge phablet last year. On the S6 Edge, you can use the edge of the screen to display a clock, notifications of missed calls, messages and e-mail, as well as stock quotes and sports scores. With the phone turned down, you can have the Edge screen light up in different colors when there are notifications from designated contacts. For now, though, you can't do as much with the edge display on the S6 Edge compared with the edge display on the Note Edge. Still, when you consider the latest phones, Samsung has managed to reclaim the Android pedestal without relying too much on the gimmicky parlor tricks that too.
And the company announced last week that its first office across the pond recently opened at 4055 Faber Place Drive in North Charleston. “When we spoke to everybody in the U. S. about Charleston, everybody had a very positive viewpoint of that region,” managing director Glenn Jackson said last week. Jackson said more employees will be added on an as-needed basis as customer demand increases. The $760,000 investment is expected to create about 40 new jobs by the end of 2016. Moneypenny’s long-term plan is to have about 400 employees within five years, according to the Charleston Regional Development Alliance. With the same name of the British Secret Service receptionist in the James Bond films, the specialty staffing firm said it handles incoming phone calls for businesses “of all shapes and sizes. ” It offers dedicated personal receptionists for entrepreneurs and small businesses on either an as-needed or full-time basis. “When Moneypenny opened in the U. K. , the face of telephone answering was similar to how it has traditionally been in the U. S. — dominated by more impersonal messenger services,” company co-founder Ed Reeves said in a written statement. “We wanted to offer businesses the same high-standard of service they would receive if they had their own receptionist, based in their office.

BTW, this is my favorite site for constantly-updating high-res satellite imagery, " WeatherTap " (updated at 3:30 pm). I pay a couple bucks a month, but if you want reliable, high-resolution satellite data, it's a good place to start. Most of the sites I list on my daily blog are free (NWS/government/university) sites, but a few charge monthly fees for access. If you're looking for weather data, maps and graphs for your site check out the Ham Weather web site and the new "Aeris" platform for web and mobile, which is free to consumers, but web sites can tap continuous imagery for a modest fee.
