Then there are the other guys: the ones who obsess over clock speeds, how much wattage their power supply puts out, and if you really can cram an 8-core processor and a Titan X into a PC the size of shoebox. For me, picking out the right components and building it all into a sleek, cable-managed rig is as much a part of PC gaming as it is actually playing games. That does mean that the hardware choices for the Ars Technica UK PC might be a little different to what you'd typically choose to use at home, but hopefully the process will help inform your own builds.
Miles have dropped about 6 percent for the 40 percent of carriers who have adopted electronic logging devices, said Derek Leathers, president and COO of Werner Enterprises and one of three fleet executives who participated in CCJ Market Movers ,... 30 publication of a final rule mandating ELD use will be “a game changer for capacity,” said Richard Stocking, president and COO of Swift. Carriers who don’t use ELDs “can run maybe 100 more miles a day,” said Stocking. “When they can’t do that…how are they going to make it. ”. Once the final ELD rule is published in the Federal Register, “there will be a group of carriers that won’t convert,” predicts Leathers, whose company pioneered the use of ELDs in 1998.... Covenant Transportation Group Chairman David Parker said early adopters of ELDs “will reap the benefits of drivers coming on board,” from carriers that aren’t using the technology. Similarly, shippers are already aligning themselves with core carriers who have embraced ELDs. All three carriers on the panel use ELDs on 100 percent of their trucks and say the benefits outweigh the potential negatives. Leathers agreed, and said that when Werner first went with ELDs, “it was an obstacle to recruitment and retention.
Yet it was not art, but necessity that first helped popularize absinthe: It was included in the rations of French soldiers who marched off to colonize Algeria in the 1840s. As Betina Wittels and Robert Hermesch write in Absinthe: Sip of Seduction,... Wittels and Hermesch write that it became a fashionable beverage in Algerian cafes and nightclubs, and when soldiers returned to France, they weren't ready to give the drink up. At the time, the French wine industry was collapsing owing to a... Absinthe was in the right place at the right time. But rather than simply substituting one alcohol for another, the French developed a ritual for drinking absinthe that gave rise to some of the greatest liquor paraphernalia — known as absinthiana — around. First, absinthe is mixed with cold water. Le louche is a spectacle for the eyes, as the absinthe transforms from a deep green to a milky, iridescent shade. " Basically, when the water hits the absinthe, it releases the essential oils from the alcohol into the water, creating a spontaneous.
