I’m digging on this site for its news reports and articles just like this. Where other sites are merely reporting without commentary or opinion (and had the time just seem like shills waiting for Apple to throw them some kind of bone for being so fawning and uncritical), you guys are really spending time putting together...
Apple has finally entered the big screen smartphone market and if you are a big screen user you are going to love this device. Iphone 6 plus is Apple’s answer to the phablet market dominated by Android devices. With its A8 processor, 5. 5-inch 1080p screen, upgraded battery which offers 80 hours of standby and all new design to match the iPhone 6, it's an attractive proposition. The home button with integrated fingerprint sensor remains positioned below the 5. 5-inch display, with the earpiece and improved FaceTime camera above. Apple offers three color variants — Gold, silver and Space Grey The iPhone 6 Plus' fingerprint sensor for Touch ID performs flawlessly, providing the ability to securely and quickly unlock the device, make purchases in the App Store. Apple Pay, the device's new short-range wireless payments system, which integrates with Touch ID, will land later this year in a software update. It sports an improved 8-megapixel camera with improved iSight and the ability to record in 240fps slow motion. However, the big change here is the use of optical image stabilisation, rather than the digital method used on the iPhone 6. This means that images are clearer, less blurry and can even take in more light thanks to being more stable when pressing...
Recently the internet noticed the Raspberry Pi could drive LCD panels using DPI. This allows very inexpensive displays to be used with basically no additional hardware. In this post we dive into the hardware required, the software configuration, how to read screen datasheets, and basic troubleshooting. There are no specific prerequisite skills necessary, but a reasonable understanding of Linux and digital signals is extremely helpful. This post was my first adventure into display technology. I managed to cobble it together from the wonderful posts on the Raspberry Pi forum. Specifically this post: http://www. f=100&t=86658. It’s great reading on it’s own, and most of the information here was derived from it. A special thanks to forum users “Fat D”, “ceteras”, and most of all “Gert van Loo” for this project: https://github. Additional thanks is due to Shannon Geis for editing this post, and Lady Ada at Adafruit Industries who posted the video that brought this to my attention. DPI stands for Display Parallel Interface (or possibly Display Pixel Interface depending on who you ask). It allows you to use very cheap displays by driving them manually. The Raspberry Pi supports this but it may not be right for every project. Very fast, easily driving our display at 60hz. No complicated interface hardware. Digital, not analog.

In many timing applications such as in 911 emergency dispatch centers, time/frequency standards, site synchronization systems, and event measurement /tagging systems, LED GPS clock receivers are replacing older timing technologies. The GPS constellation consists of 24 orbiting satellites with each one containing a highly stable atomic (cesium) clock, which is continuously monitored and corrected by the GPS control segment. Consequently, the GPS...
