To help you demystify your meditation practice, I’ve created Gabby’s Guide to Meditation for beginners. These 10 steps will help you begin your very own meditation practice now and guide you to embrace the life-changing benefits that this tool has to offer. Gabby’s Beginners Guide to Meditation. You’ve just gotta want it. Like any practice, you have to want to do it in order to achieve results. It can be hard to start a meditation practice because it seems so foreign from what we’re taught to do. But I have good news: Meditating is much simpler than we make it out to be. Beginning a meditation practice requires only your slight willingness. Your desire to experience something new is all you need to get on a new path. Affirm this statement out loud to yourself: I am open to meditation and I welcome a new practice into my life. It’s very important to accept that anyone can meditate as long as they want to. 2. Set the mood.
var tt_sections =... /* ]]> */ This is Flir’s first true consumer product. And considering the quality of things Flir, the expectations are running a little high. Design & Installation The Flir FX WiFi 1080p HD video monitoring security camera shows that much thought went into the overall design. The camera part, which is in the shape of a giant Starburst with slightly-rounded corners, detaches from the base. Part of Flir’s plan with the Flir FX revolves around providing additional accessories to enable the camera to do more outside of the home. Turning the Flir FX camera on requires a single press. On the top is a manual record button which lights up when active. And other than the micro USB charge port and microSD card slot on the side, there isn’t much else to poke at. Although there are no vents, the Flir FX camera doesn’t run hot. What isn’t so evident at first is that both the Flir FX camera and its base pack internal batteries. The camera can operate for up to 2 hours itself, and the base adds on.
t's two weeks before Christmas, which means the Shaughnessys are deep into their December rituals. A Christmas tree, sparkling with colored lights and surrounded by a small troop of Santa Clauses, stands in the corner of the living room, waiting. Harry and Charlotte Shaughnessy watch their children dip into a stash of ornaments: a Welsh flag from Grace's semester abroad. a trinket embroidered with Brennen's name and 1998, the year the youngest Shaughnessy was born. Harry, nursing a rum and Coke, smiles at the sight of an even older ornament: a stocking that says "Charlotte and Harry, 1988," their first Christmas as a couple. In those days, the Shaughnessys were Catholic. While Charlotte taught at the parish school and Harry started a computer consulting business, they tried, for the most part, to follow the church's doctrines. But one day a question cracked the foundation of Harry's faith, and the fissure slowly widened until the walls shivered and the roof shook and the whole damn house fell down. Harry, who turns 44 next month, comes from a long line of Catholics. As the Christmas tree fills with family artifacts, Harry announces that it's time for the topper. After terse negotiations, Grace, the eldest, climbs the stairs to nestle the ornament in the treetop.
