Take a seat: the latest in furniture design for bars
Large tables with benches, perhaps with armchairs at each end, and garden furniture, such as wrought iron and Lloyd Loom dining sets (pictured above), can also add to the effect. “Create a well-lit space by adding strategically placed mirrors that ...

At New York's Maritime Hotel, cruise-worthy hospitality on land
There's a vintage-feeling nautical mural across the top of one wall, which faces a series of large arched windows that look out onto the deck — er, restaurant patio. Illuminated ship models grace the top of the bookshelves. I'm tempted to grab a ...

"This is a very intimate experience, and people have very different If you want a clock with real impact, this extra large Bodet BT630 flip wall clock could be the ideal purchase. A vintage item, probably from the 1970s, this is a classic flip clock, but one that's sized at 34 x 25cm, which is certainly going to dominate a “I didn’t expect it to be as big as it got as quickly as it got,” laughs state-of-the art high school... Oh I just love that there's more and more Karen. The cool vintage feel of the funky steampunk style. The rustic romantic feel of the recycled garden, and the beauty of the Scandinavian lines of that gazebo. Thanks for taking me along for the ride and so happy you have more to share. That fairy house is so sweet, like the clock and Gazebo. I was talking to a friend in California and my nose ran , Oh the blood was coming out fast and heavy. thanks for the beautiful post. Well, I too would have voted for the 'Lest Best' a Dutch saying for the Last one is Best. The steam punk looks like a science fiction and I don't like it at all. That fairy house is outstanding. Your post just goes to show that you should have fun in the garden and take risks. And that recycled garden is so amazing. I would have loved to work on that one. Thank you for passing on the inspiration Karen. I read all your Garden Show posts with amazement - how did they manage to create all that on the 3rd floor. I've always wanted to go to a garden show here in Britain but haven't yet had the chance. There is an hour every evening for a four or five days, covering the Chelsea Garden Show.
I am insanely jealous of Pinterest-worthy gorgeous homes that ought to be on the cover on Better Homes and Gardens magazine. People have beautiful Facebook-worthy homes with immaculately placed, perfectly matched color-coordinated accent pieces. That is not my home. : it is an airy well-lit room with large bay windows on two sides and French doors leading out to our new double-level wooden deck. a medium-sized 25-gallon fish tank, three telescopes (that are hurriedly brought outdoors when there is something cool to see at night), a wooden rocking chair that belonged to Brian's parents, and a black leather sectional from IKEA. All the artwork on the walls are that of lighthouses. This is probably our most-used room in our entire home. We only eat out for approximately 1 - 2 meals per week, so we spent a lot of time in this kitchen. See the mess on the countertops. There is a large 11x14-inch calendar that coordinates all the activities/events we are involved in, the lamp is on a small half-moon table, and the original artwork painting of a rooster is from a friend who says it's a Russian tradition to have a...
