Six months old. I got a little inspiration and decided to have a small "Halfie Birthday" party for Dean turning 6 months old, complete with half a cake, friends and family, and little man even got serenaded on stage by Tropigroove. This has been my favorite Month o' Dean so far (do I always say that. He is such a happy little boy now. He "blows raspberries" (or as Justin calls it "makes a motorcycle vrrooom") - I smile to myself when I hear Dean in the next room, sitting in his Bumbo, bopping the tray, going, "Bah Bah Bah bbbbbrrbrbbrbrbrrb" <--how is that even spelled. Dean, Justin, and I took a road trip to Gainesville this month to visit Trish, one of my very best friends from college, at her surprise baby shower for little girl # 3. Her entire family traveled from South Florida to be there - it made me tear... Trish got to meet Dean for the first time and give him a big hug. Little Veda Rae was born just one week later, happy and healthy and surrounded by love. I remember freshman year at UF - Trish and I across the hall from each other drinking Bud Light before taking the Later Gator bus out to dance it up at 0:08 in downtown Gainesville till 2AM. on a Wednesday. From the baby shower we went on to visit Justin's good friend (and old employer), Ken Brown for his annual B onfire - with a capital B. This is not your average bonfire.
Huroth, the dragon chieftain, recognizes a need for his kind to adapt, by forming alliances and mate-bonds with humans, but his clan is divided. From the first time she meets him, Lady Orwenna is drawn to the magnificent chieftain. When war breaks out between kingdoms and ancient enemies of the dragons resurface, the clan will be tested. In the midst of uncertainty, can Huroth and Orwenna find their way together. Huroth awakes, trapped in ice despite his fiery strength as dragon chief. His alarm clock. A deranged, banished magician who is out for power, instead Huroth descends upon the kingdom, and takes princess as his betrothed. It's too bad that the princess is an infant and that Huroth is attracted by a much more age appropriate woman of the court: Lady Orwenna. First off, Orwenna wins for my favorite character name of the year so far. Huroth on the other hand does not conjure up images of muscly, brawny beef-cake to me. Instead it reminds me of like. Oaf-name aside, Huroth is deserving of your lust and appreciation. As dragon chief, he's got that alpha male thing going on in spades, and forget kidnapping damsels. There was a lot of angst, a lot of supernatural strength, and some kick butt fighting scenes as our dragon defends.
