In the bleakness of our winter they seem to come around every day earlier and earlier and yet the alarm clock tries to tell you otherwise. It insists that it is 8 o’clock for example. In former times I might have taken to examining the clock for defects. The clock could also be shaken if we suspected any indiscretion in its timing accuracy. As a consequence an alarm clock had to be built to withstand the early morning thump of a fist coming down hard on the ‘stop-that-bloody-noise-for-gods-sake’ button. At least that’s what I called it. The stop-that-bloody-noise-for-gods-sake button alone was often designed to withstand a pressure of several Newtons per kilogram, which shows amongst other things how important Newton was to the world of space,... Mechanical alarm clocks could quite easily wake you up at 5:15 because setting the alarm time required a degree of patience and dexterity. There were only 12 hours in a day in those days, so you couldn’t accidentally set it to go off at some fancy new hour of 19:30, for example, it was just a straightforward 7 ish o’clock. Once set you go to sleep safe in the knowledge that the clock would wake you up plus-or-minus an hour or two from when you actually wanted.
Well, the right kind of alarm clock – one that gives out an almighty din would definitely be worth checking out, and even more so if it is difficult to shut off. We have seen some cool alarm clocks in the past, and this time around, here is the $79. 95 Clap Or Tap Block Clock. Specially disguised to resemble that of a simple block of wood, this is a cordless digital clock which will show off the time whenever you activate it. How does the Clap Or Tap Block Clock get activated. Time is shown in large, easy-to-read blue LED numerals, and you can set it to alternate between the time, date, and room temperature, or simply to show off the current time only.
Just received this watch last week from Amazon. I have been a fan of Casio watches and their technology for many years now. The technology that is in this watch is very cool. The compass feature and carbon fiber second hand is accurate and pretty cool. The watch is solar and radio controlled and the calendar takes into account the month & year even though it only shows the day and date on the display. The only drawbacks that I see are that there is no built in light and the tone for the countdown timer and alarm is so low in volume that it is pretty much worthless. The glow at night, unless you had just exposed it to a bright light, is also pretty worthless to be able to see in the dark. The solar charging and radio control means never having to replace a battery or having to set the time. The triple G durability is great and everything about this watch conveys high quality and G Shock dependability. I think that this is probably one of the most technologically advanced and dependable analog watches on the market today. This new orange color released this year is great and the face on the watch is stunning.
