A Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign is afoot to bring to market the SensorWake, an alarm clock that will wake you up with food smells including coffee, chocolate and fig. The little scent blocks that are popped into the top of the clock’s contemporary design are said to last through 60 wakeups, according to its 18-year-old inventor and Google Science Fair finalist, Guillaume Rolland. If the smell of food wafting through your bedroom isn’t your idea of a wakeup “call,” you can also choose such scents as “seaside” and “dollar. Food Network profiles ‘crazy’ restaurants. A new show that’s perfect for Wacky Wednesday comes to the Food Network tonight. the network premieres “Craziest Restaurants in America,” on which Chef Graham Elliot takes viewers on a tour through eateries offering various kinds of extreme dining around the country. Bill Joerger III said he wouldn't do anything differently if he could relive his cooking-show experience. He'd still put the cinnamon in his shrimp dish with feta cheese and roasted tomato sauce - the cinnamon that restaurateur judge Geoffrey Zackarian didn't care for and was apparently the reason Joerger was eliminated from the Food Network's... Joerger laughs when he's asked - for the umpteenth time - about the cinnamon his celebrity-chef mentor, Michael Symon, advised him to add to his dish. "Cinnamon is a very traditional Greek ingredient, and (Symon) has a Greek background," Joerger, a Philadelphia firefighter whose parents live in Clay Township, said. "After I put the cinnamon in, we tasted (the dish), and everything was spot on," Joerger said. Tonight's episode of on "All-Star Academy" is "redemption week," which means one of the home cooks who has been eliminated in the first four weeks of the contest could be brought back into the competition. But Joerger can't say anything about that - or anything else he knows about the outcome of this first season of the show. "Good luck getting that from me," Joerger added with a laugh when interviewed by phone from his Philadelphia home. Joerger, 33, a lieutenant who cooks for his firehouse, applied to be on the show last September. He eventually cooked for Food Network representatives in New York, did an on-camera interview and was picked as one of the 10 contestants on "All-Star Academy" in November.
