The design is a little clunky, so you should set the time then wind it for the first time, because when the clock is fully wound, the time setting is hars to grip and twist easily.

Beyond this forgivable design flaw, it's a wonderful little alarm clock. I recommend.

Comforting. Accurate. Dependable.

I had to fiddle with the speed bar on the back because it was running slow, and then a little too fast, but I did get it right after a few tries.  The speed is set at the factory.  What I like is that it needs no batteries or electricity.  Just wind it not too tightly once a day.  You can hear it ticking if you're close to it, but it's in no way bothersomely loud.  Would buy it again, good established brand.

Just what I want in a back-up alarm clock

This is a great clock.  No batteries; no electricity; no loud ticking; VERY loud alarm.  Needs a winding every other day.  I am very happy with this clock and recommend it to people who get annoyed if they have to get out the very complicated directions every time they want to change the alarm time.

First Rate

It reminds me of the one  I had many years ago and it lasted me many years - you just got to get in the habit of winding it up - I had to adjust it it was running fast but theres a control on it just for that purpose - It's operating great - and I dont have my little alarm clock plugged in that gets pretty warm and why have something thats throwing off heat when its time to run your AC ! It all adds up $ !

Great Job And Worth The Money

This is really a very nice clock. It keeps perfect time and you can adjust it to be spot on using the little slider on the back. The alarm is very loud and wakes me up with ease. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I bought this for a friend of mine who is older, and he wanted old-school alarm clock. He wanted one that  wound up and did not have batteries or digital. This was perfect for him.

it did not work it would not tick or time , i say this know because i was writing about this before and no one ever got back to me

PACKED IN BAG AND INSIDE WESTCLOX BOX IT WAS NOT WRAPPED OR CUSHIONED. I GOT IT RUNNING FOR 12 HOURS THEN IT JUST QUIT. LOOKED LIKE IT WAS A DEFECTIVE RETURN.

I'LL TRY THIS SAME CLOCK AGAIN AND HOPE FOR BETTER
