So somewhere in my alcohol deprived Lent festivities I decided that this was going to be THE YEAR. In stepped my Very Dear Friend. Her husband was to be out of town and she would be happy to go. And with that, everything was set for 6:30 a. m. You would think that knowing it was at 6:30 a. m. would give me pause, but again, Im alcohol deprived, so my decision making process... Had I not been meeting someone, I am certain I would have turned off the clock and gone back to sleep, chalking this up to "I tried but it was hard" and promising to do some sort of service-thingy later. The night before VDF (very dear friend) had texted me about carpooling to church, but I had declined, uncertain of my ability to be on time. So I jumped out of bed, mostly to keep myself awake, and proceed to go about "getting ready" with light speed. I was moving in a daze, but it was a rapid daze. And people (namely The Hub's) were sleeping, so I could not turn on the light. I should have laid out my outfit the night before, but alas, that required planning I was not capable of at the time. So I grab the tiny flashlight on my night stand that's there in case of emergencies and proceed to try and gather clothing for this. Thats when problem #3 comes to light. I think (but don't remember) that I threw away a bunch, planning to get more.
we’ve reached the pinnacle of baby bump cuteness. around month seven is when the typical person goes from adorable to kind of just huge. i’m finalizing more details for the new house and olivia’s nursery. i’ve been looking for some art prints and items for olivia’s nursery and ran across these quirky little bird ballerina prints on water in my paint’s Etsy store , which i immediately bought and shipped. the kid is bouncing around like a wild woman in my belly now, with ample space to move around, since she is still just about 1. 5 pounds and has a VERY roomy uterus to inhabit. my belly has probably doubled in the size in the last month, but actually, the higher it goes, the more comfortable it is. for awhile, the roundest part of me was right at my beltline, which made sitting pretty annoying. i have turned into an extremely light sleeper (even small sounds, the light of the TV, the glare of the alarm clock, and, you know, the ever-present santa belly) wakes me up several times a night and leaves me staring at the ceiling. however, i have thought of some good ideas for clients recently, so hopefully that means olivia will be a creative like her mama.
We all lose people we love. I guess most people recognize the situation in which we try not to care about what happens around us, but just at the end of it, you completely break down in tears. This is the time when you need to take actions. Step 1: One thing a day. Every day you see a big pile of things you still have to do and you have no idea where to begin. Try not to combine several tasks on the same day, but keep yourself to one. You can do this by keeping an agenda, preferably not a smart phone but a real one. A to-do-list app might also do wonders: every time you get a new assignment, you can put it in this list and afterwards in your agenda. After you finished that one task, give yourself some time to relax. Read a book, take a hot bath, watch a movie, be creative and start colouring or something else YOU feel is relaxing. Maybe the expression should be modified: One task and an apple a day, keeps the doctor away. Step 2: Don’t be afraid to love. I am a person who does not trust anyone (and I never will, trust-issues), but I have to start to open up and love (certain) people in my life. Be sure to choose the right people though, a lot of people aren’t worth the love you give them.
