I'm not terribly familiar with all the many and varied permutations of Games Workshop's Warhammer 40K setting, but the staff here who is tells me it's an RTS about battling for control of the Gothic sector of space at the head of an Imperial,... A few weeks ago I posted my first piece on the city of Vienna, on how great it is for GeekDads and their children . This second piece focuses on the brilliant museums we visited. Vienna has over 100 museums. it would be impossible to visit them all in a single visit. Naturhistorisches Museum Wien. If you went to London’s Natural History Museum over the Easter weekend, you’d be crammed in, forced to move about as part of the mob. Set in a beautiful imposing building, that sits opposite Vienna’s Kunsthistorisches Museum , the city’s natural history museum is considered to be one of the finest in the world. And so it is, yet, despite not particularly great weather, the museum felt almost empty. By turning a wheel, you could turn the Earth through millions of years, stretching from billions of years in the past, to seeing how the planet will looks in several million years time. Technisches Museum Wien. Vienna’s cavernous technical museum might well be the best museum I’ve ever visited.
White Dwarf, Issue #65 (Warhammer 40,000, Assassinorum: Execution Force, Warhammer Fantasy). Page Count: 36. Release Date: 04/25/2015. Get it Here: The Black Library (Or your local Games Workshop retail store). With The End Times of Warhammer Fantasy being over, and my not being a big 40K fan, there wasn’t much of a reason to pay attention to what Games Workshop was peddling. That all changed with the release of Assassinorum: Execution Force , the new stand-alone board game from Games Workshop. I was tempted to pick up Assassinorum: Execution Force because I could add the figures to my Guardians of the Covenant and Chaos Space Marines armies, but at $125 for only two dozen minis and a lack of any real information on the board game, I... That meant picking up this week’s White Dwarf since it was going to be all about this game (and related new products). It sounds like a Warhammer 40K version of the Dungeons & Dragons Adventure System games like Castle Ravenloft , The Legend of Drizzt or the upcoming Temple of Elemental Evil release. I didn’t really care for those games, and so, even though I love the new Assassin minis, they definitely aren’t worth $125,.
