Spitfires close on play-off positions after delayed win
Not surprisingly the game lost all its shape and, with the clock ticking before 4.20pm, seven minutes of first-half stoppage time were announced. There was still time, though, for Eastleigh to create a decent late chance when Partington's goal-bound ...

Britons go to the polls May 7 to elect a new government and the BOE is bound by “purdah” rules that prevent officials from speaking in public while the general election campaign is in full swing. The clock starts ticking March 30, with the dissolution of Parliament, and runs at least until May 11, the first Monday after the poll.
It takes place in a dusty recent past in an independent record shop (Bristol’s Revolver) and offers a glimpse of a hidden history – one where conversations and thought patterns drift mesmerically through film, art, the countryside, friendships and... Astley had written the phrase ‘Sweet Third-Deep Grass’ in her notebook, from a memory of fielding at Third Deep during a game of rounders, a position where the ball is rarely in play and, unless playing against a strong team, the opportunity to... Astley spent part of her childhood near the village of Moulsford in Oxfordshire where her father, a composer of film and television soundtracks, worked in a small recording studio-cum-study installed in the garage of the family home. An agreement was made that Astley could use this studio for part of the recording which, together with her degree from the Guildhall School of Music, gave her the confidence to recreate the passing of a day in the English countryside. She was also encouraged in the idea by Bill Drummond, who suggested he could release the finished recording on his Zoo record label. She hired a portable Uher quarter-inch tape recorder and with her partner Russell Webb made field recordings of the wildlife and atmosphere of the Thames Valley.
A single man has become a father. Single women plan and deliberately create babies, or freeze their eggs, sometimes to avoid that annoying ticking biological clock. Other children become the child of a single parent, through tragedy or divorce. While we may all have opinions about whether being raised by one parent rather than two is optimal, we can probably all agree that this depends on many other factors, including the availability of other support that the (single) parent has. The child in question was in fact carried by his own grandmother, who acted as a gestational surrogate for the embryo created – in an IVF clinic – using a donor egg and her son's sperm (reported in BioNews 793). So not only did this case cause... ' Some of the headlines didn't help - The Daily Mail went with, for example, 'Woman gives birth to her own son's IVF baby: Now he wins right to adopt child who is his brother' (1). But that's not what this is. A woman carried her own son's baby,... The child is only that man's 'brother' because an outdated and questionable legal provision, designed to cope with entirely different situations, says he is. There is no hint of an incestuous relationship here (2). A single man (or a gay male...
