It is the network of physical objects or “things” embedded with electronics, software, sensors and connectivity to enable it to achieve greater value and service by exchanging data with the manufacturer, operator and(or) other connected devices. A good illustration is like how a smart phone is able to send data to the manufacturer when the background data is on. These phones have close to 10 sensors that are able to capture anything from location to the device orientation to light... Collectively, these sensors produce a huge amount of data, both in pictures or videos as well as GPS or acceleration data. The phone is usually in constant communication with external servers and the apps that you have installed, through its embedded computing system and is able to intero-perate within the existing Internet infrastructure. These devices collect useful data with the help of various existing technologies and then autonomously flow the data between other devices. All this data exchange is through the internet, no wonder they are ‘bundle hungry’ little monsters. Our trailer contained various panning shots, close ups and mid shots to focus the viewers attention on specific details within the shot in a very short amount of time. This is seen in trailers for Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Se7en which I have previously annotated in detail. Both of these trailers also used fade to black/white frequently, which we replicated in our trailer to mildly shock the audience. We synchronised the clip cuts to the background music and sound effects to emphasise words such as "Time's running out" much like Texas Chainsaw Massacre synchronised the camera flashes with the sound effects from the camera. The inter-titles of my trailer were constructed using the 'DEEP GLOW' font style on Final Cut Pro. To build the suspense and tension within the momentum of the trailer, the titles glow colour changes from a light blue which connotes calm and equilibrium, to white which suggests an alarming situation, before subtly fading into a red glow that... We suggested a brief narrative with our trailer, starting with the equilibrium of Gabrielle talking with her mother, then being left at home alone which is when the music becomes more tense - suggesting danger.
Some days, for a lot of humor writers, it’s very hard to come up with things to write about……at least humorous things. Because I live with a woman who provides me with endless hours of humorous blogging inspiration ideas. No, not that she taps me on the shoulder each day and says, “Honeeeee, why don’t ya do a blog about how fruit flies miraculously appear out of nowhere,” and I immediately thank her and head off and bang out a blog about fruit flys. Especially men, such as myself who write at home and need peace and quiet so that when an idea hits you, you have to write it down immediately or it’s gone. Enter woman with vacuum and you have the main reason most writers and authors never finish a book they’re writing. Now you may recall that a new book by author by Harper Lee of “To Kill A Mockingbird,” fame, published in 1960, will be releasing a new book entitled, “Go Set A Watchman. My guess is that Ms. Lee, having much success with “To Kill A Mockingbird,” then, having reaped in millions from her book and movie sales, hired a housekeeper, lest she have to do it herself and take time from writing another great novel, soon... So it is with writing this humor blog. Not that I will EVER write a great novel mind you. But at least some futile daily attempts at writing humor just to amuse my.
