I was awake early this morning and went for a walk. I came across the Nyaung Oo Market where the local people shop each day. There were piles of chicken, fruit and veges, baskets of rice, flowers all displayed for sale. Really interesting to see everyday life. I was awake early this morning and went for a walk. Really interesting to see everyday life. This one had giant standing Buddhas and a huge stone with Buddha footprints in it. One of the Buddhas had an expression that seemed to change. We arrived in Mandalay in the late afternoon and went to the U Bein bridge, a footbridge across Taungthaman Lake. No rails on the sides and some of the floor needs replacing but thousands of people use it each day. We drove to our hotel (The Rich Queen)l and somehow we got a large corner room with an even larger balcony while the Kelly's got a very small room that was noisy.
