Maura and I dyed some eggs with one of those Paas kits and although they didn't come out exactly as they were supposed to, they are really pretty, pastel, and speckly. I balanced them very carefully in moss on top of these little wood stumps that I stole from a friend who cut them down in her backyard (love them, and so versatile too, used them for our Christmas party this year). It makes me smile every day when I walk by it. Bird print from a calendar, bunnies from Target and Home Goods a few years back, "vintage" alarm clock from Pottery Barn, wooden candlesticks purchased at a yard sale that I then painted green. Maura said one morning "What if we make it an Easter tree. " and so we did:) I cut egg shapes out of colored card stock and we decorated them with glitter and foam stickers (all supplies we already had).
While our winter wasn't a particularly bad one, the gray clouds and gloomy weather certainly seemed to squelch my spring decorating mojo. Anyway, I've been working on this Bunnies and Eggs Easter Mantel for a few weeks now, putting things up and taking them down. When the sun came out on Sunday afternoon, I figured I better seize the moment to take some pictures and be satisfied with how this year's Easter mantel turned out. After all, Easter is just a couple of weeks away.
Shadows Of Guta (Excerpt 228) Relief As many thoughts are traveling through Stephen’s mind taking him back days and years, he has gathered a few empty boxes from the kitchen filling them with the small amount of food on hand. Walking to the hallway, he looks in the hall closet and finds a luggage dolly, which will work perfectly in hauling the items up the path to the manor. They have been sitting on the dusty wooden floor of the front bedroom ever since he arrived. He takes the clock from its position on the fireplace mantel, gently stuffs it in one of the bags, and slips both bags across his right shoulder. He then turns off the lamp in the sitting room as well as the kitchen light, and pulls the loaded dolly out the back door. At the last minute, he decides to bring the small trunk of letters and photographs with him and quickly removes if from its position on the hearth in the sitting room.
